I’m uncertain!?
Seriously, I rail against it with questions and lists and plans. It is the thing that has me most unsettled now in my later years.
Before I was certain my children would be fine, I would get a good job, I would earn my degree and get a better job, I’d do more and get an even better job. Now that’s all done. Children grown with grown children of their own. Jobs became a highly gratifying career that ended in “retirement” a half-decade ago.
Now I keep trying to stay busy enough not to see that the road ahead, much shorter than the one behind me, is rife with uncertainty.
